The results of assessment can objectively reflect students’ Chinese language level in terms of the Chinese usage, conventions, reading fluency and reading comprehension level.  I use the results of assessment not only to guide my instruction but also to set goals with students and parents.

As a teacher, it is an additional tool that provides me with a good idea of where my students are with their fluency, comprehensions, pronunciation, and intonations with which I use to guide my instructions.  I like the fact that I can assess my students and group them according to their reading abilities.  So far there hasn’t been any leveled Chinese reading programs out there.
